Tonight was PTA meeting and my second graders were performing for their parents. Right before the start of the PTA meeting is started raining and kept a lot of the kids and parents away.

Outfit of the Day 5/4/11

Today was a special day for me! Tonight I had my districts service awards dinner and I was going to be presented a gift and could bring a guest to share in this event. Naturally I took my sweet husband. We had a nice banquet dinner and then came the presentation of gift. I have worked for 20 years in my school district. I can't believe that when I say it. Below are the gifts I received. I had a choice of items to pick from; a paperweight, clock, watch, id bracelet and pearl necklace. I picked the pearl necklace I thought I would get more wear out of it. I had to walk across the stage and shake all the board members hands and the superintendent and was presented a silver picture frame at the end. I felt like I was graduating!
It was a nice evening out with my sweetie and look forward to the next 20 years!

I love this necklace. I think its so pretty but every time I turn my head I get a nice little poke from the petals around my neck. Ouch!

I wish I had worn tights instead of the hose but I have a huge hole in my tights and couldn't find another pair in my drawer.

Hurray! We are going out to dinner. I do not like coming home from teaching and having to cook dinner. I am not a good cook and I think my family would starve if they relied on me for all their meals.

Happy July 4th!

We are back from out vacation and I will share pictures later. We had a fabulous time in Hawaii! Today at church they had a BBQ after the service which was great since we had nothing to eat at home and while we were away the Tropical storm blew in and we lost power and not sure for how long so cleaning out the refrigerator later on today and then heading to the grocery store. We had a fun weekend. I was so proud of my sister for graduating with her Masters and with a 4.0 average. We spent Saturday at Six Flags Fiesta, TX. I played with my 3 year niece in Wiggles World while the older ones hit the roller coasters. I had so much fun wiggling, dancing and laughing with my niece. Sunday we went to the Alamo and went to a new exhibit for me, across the street. It had a huge diorama of the Alamo purchased by Phil Collins, the singer. He is the largest private collector of Alamo stuff. I thought it was pretty interesting especially since he was not raised here in the US.
