What a day! Today we had several lay offs at my school due to the budget cuts from the state. Over 300 in my district alone! Texas is losing a lot of great teachers. My heart is so sadden by all the wonderful teachers that are now out of work. The Texas education department needs to get its act together soon for the future of our state! Top and skirt-Dress Barn

Outfit of the Day 2/2/11

The day started out with ...no electricity! I guess I am thankful that as soon as I had dried my hair the power went out. It was off for about 30 minutes and then came back on for an hour or so and then off. You guessed it, we had rolling blackouts today due to the low temperatures. It continued like that to after lunch. So the flat hair and dull makeup was due to getting ready by camping lantern. And I will let you guess how crazy it was with a class full of second graders. They thought going to the bathroom with the emergency lights on was pretty cool! Ruffle shirt-Avenue

Happy February! February came in like a lion! The wind is crazy and the temperature steadily dropped all day long. It was in the mid 60's this morning and by this evening it was in the 30's. I did not plan the right jacket to wear but it matched my outfit so I had to endure the cold to look good!

All week my son has been participating in the Rice University baseball camp and I have been sweating up a storm. It is so hot on a baseball field this time of year. I can't believe I made this. I attended a jewelry making class with a girlfriend and we each made a necklace. The hardest part was deciding colors and placement of the beads.

Love this bracelet and wear it often. The ring was a gift from my sweetie and wear it daily.

My killer shoes! They stretched out and they kept slipping off my heels. I need to get some insole inserts to see if that will help. I will be sad if I have to give them away.

After work today I popped into Payless because it's BOGO time and was looking for some cut,e fun shoes to wear for earth day tomorrow. And I left with 2 new pairs of black shoes. I spied some jewelry that I may go back and get in the near future.

Weekend Outfits

I spent this past weekend visiting family in Missouri. My niece got the lead part in the community playhouse so we had to go see her. Plus, we stayed to hear my brother preach on Sunday at his church. Monday we drove the 12 hours straight and you don't want to see my comfy long car trip clothes. :)

Today was not a holiday, back to teaching second graders. I had one of my students snap my picture before school started and they thought it was pretty cool. I was dressed warm and cozy. The day started out cold at 34 degrees and then warmed up to the 50's. I work in an old building and you never know if the heater will be working or not.

Outfit of the Day 2/15/10

My son and I had a holiday today due to President's Day so I met my mom and dad with my sister's children at Chuck E Cheese. We played games and had pizza. You are never too old for Chuck E Cheese! After our fill of games and tickets, my son and I headed over to the mall to check out the President's Day sale. We were disappointed. I did pick up a few items and my son got a new pair of tennis shoes.
